Summary:
The Intelligence Analyst will collect, store, analyze and disseminate information on various crimes to the law enforcement community in the interest of public safetyThis position is a critical role in policing and crime prevention activitiesThe chosen candidate will have strong analytical and critical thinking skillsThis position will also provide case support and perform administrative duties for the Williston Police Department Supervision Received:

Non-Exempt Essential Job Functions:
Identify threats and provide decision makers with the information they need to combat and mitigate threats through intelligence analysis Conduct trend analyses, statistical studies, and link analyses; develop assessments based on analysis findings Assist in the technical analysis and evaluation of intelligence data sought on criminal activities and trends Conduct problem profiling, and target profiling; find the source and break down Facilitate and promote information sharing within the department; develop relationships, and form networks with various law enforcement agencies to exchange intelligence information; attend shift briefings as necessary Provide administrative crime analysis support by generating or creating special reports for police department administrators Assists in the development and implementation of procedures, policies, and objectives for this position Utilize specialized databases and develop statistical data resources to assist in proactive and targeted investigations, preventative law enforcement and education, identification of patterns, trends and criminal organizations and identification of known and repeat offenders Use knowledge and understanding of language, culture and history of this region to support the police department Create and distribute weekly intelligence bulletins regarding crime trends, wanted persons to area law enforcement Conduct intelligence-based training Provide administrative support to the police department in support of criminal investigations Provide vital investigative and case support as requested from the police department Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with Williston Police Department, and City of Williston policies and procedures All other duties as assigned Note:

Qualifications:
Proficient in computer operations and social media use Ability to prepare clear and concise reports Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong pattern recognition and strategic thinking skills Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate data into digestible information Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and data Ability to effectively prioritize work; work under pressure within time constraints Ability to prepare accurate, effective, and timely reports, correspondence, and other written materials Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Ability to operate office equipment including computers and supporting crime analysis programs and databases Education:
High school graduate or equivalentAssociates or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Experience:
One-year related experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Necessary Special Requirements:
Certification as a Crime and Intelligence Analyst or must obtain certification within one year of hireValid North Dakota driver's license to be obtained within three months of hiring; insurable under the City's motor vehicle insurance policyAbility to obtain various security clearances.
Physical Demands:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods of time; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; Work Environment:
